Woke up early and walked over to Senado square and St Paul ruins. Macau has lots of old architecture with portugese flavour. Churches are built around the city, adding a different taste to this Chinese state. The Christmas season also greeted the area with Christmas trees and various decorations. We had also planned to spend the countdown here but it wasn’t meant to be.
Spent the afternoon at Sands Casino before we move off to the largest casino in the world at Taipa, the Venetian. The infrastructure is already a different class from the rest as we had previously been to Lisboa Casino as well. Judging by the size and décor of Venetian, one could tell that the casino’s turnover rate is very high. Its a total class act and is by far the best casino in my opinion.
Oh by the way, the dinner cost us a total of about 3000HKD with just 5 dishes, vege, roast pigeon, Shark’s fins soup with really lots of shark’s fins, preserved meat and huge prawns. We were also told that this shop is patronized only by the rich and hence the 2 guards in the front of the shop. In the past when security wasn’t that tight, robbers even came to the shop to rob the customers!
