The Haivan pass during the bus journey
A 4 hour journey on a hot and stuffy bus brought us from Hue to Hoi An. We arrived at around 1pm and we decided to scout around for cheaper hotels instead of the one that we booked via the internet. After walking around for about an hour, we chose to stay in the rather cosy and comfortable Dai Long Hotel - the one that we booked! It was only after we went in that we realised that there were only 3 beds, 2 single and 1 double. GREAT! It couldn't be better settled with a game of texas hold'em, our favourite pastime during this trip! And the result - Weiyang and Zhi Kai will be sleeping with a bed EACH. Guess who will be sleeping together again?

Song trying out his newly made outfit. Looks handsome there!

The place where we conduct our shopping spree
Currently, Hoi An is the most relaxed and laid-back city thus far. On a good Saturday afternoon, there was hardly any vehicles on the roads and the streets were in a good state of peace and tranquility.

Weiyang doing pullups in Hoi An.. wth?

The old town just seems like the MediaCorp's fake backdrop of the 80's. Famous for its tailoring of suits, tuxedos and dresses, Song and Kai decided to cash in on the opportunity and bought a set of suit each for about USD100. T-shirts and imitations were also on a bargain in this not-so-touristy small town. The 4 of us started a shopping spree and bought plenty of singlets and shirts!
Lunch is yet another 'forgetable' experience. After accepting our orders and whilst we were waiting for the food, the shop owner actually had the cheek to say,
"Oh I just remembered the chicken has been left in the fridge for a long time, why don't you order other stuffs instead?"
OMG! How can she say such a thing? Its like she's telling us her food are not fresh so please don't patronise me anymore. And we did listen to her. Got damn irritated by that but out of sympathy, we just ordered some other food and get it over and done with. Moral of the story, never patronise a shop with no customers!

Dinner was at a restaurant by the river. Good food, nice scenery and we ended off with a few rounds of poker during the happy hour! Each glass of beer at just SGD0.25... what a steal!

Hoi An, a great getaway city.
